The simplest way to do this is to remember to endorse mods that you enjoy. Within Vortex, you can do this when viewing your mods list by clicking the thumbs-up icon listed with each mod. 2019-07-16 2020-05-01 my mod staging folder is what vortex sets my external as typically i would install mods and all my steam games on the C drive but everyone i watch like ESO or Gopher put theirs on an external hard drive im not sure why maybe something to do with stability or eaiser to organize but at any rate my mod staging folder says and again what vortex sets it as is d:/Votex Mods… "You can not put mods into the game directory. This directory is under the control of the game (and potentially steam or similar.) so your mods might be deleted or moved, or otherwise damaged by foreign software. Please choose a seperate folder for staging folder, one that no other application use." I don't get it.

Vortex mod staging folder

Downloads Folder. Go to Settings > Downloads > click the hyperlink to open your Vortex downloads folder. Grab your archives from the downloaded mods. On the new computer, install Vortex (download the latest version from Nexus Mods) Drag and drop your mod archives into the Mods landing zone. Vortex says that mods can't be deployed because the mod staging folder needs to be on the same drive as the game. So, if I move the staging folder, will that also move SKyrim SE's staging folder as well?

I emptied out the Mod Staging folder as well. Re-opened Vortex and didn't see anything like "Clean all mods from this game" or anything with similar wording.

Then you could set up d:\vortex mods and all games on D would use that. And so on. Not sure how you've been setting up your folders and games in the past. But if you may want to set up a dedicated modding folder. So if you have all of your games on the C: drive, set up the mod staging to C:\Modding\Vortex\mods\{GAME} or something like that. If your mods table appears to be blank or you receive a warning that the staging folder cannot be found after restarting Vortex there are a number of possible changes that may have happened since Vortex was last opened. In almost all cases, this change was not caused by Vortex itself.: Your mod staging folder has been moved.

I had installed cyber engine and better minimap via vortex with no problems, after the 1.1 update, the updated versions of cyber engine and simple menu seem to be installed but they didnt work. I had to install them manually. Heavy breathing Open Vortex and go to settings, now click Mods, here you should find the Mod Staging Folder. Here it should say G:\Vortex\SkyrimSE\mods, the G would be the drive letter you have placed Vortex(mine is G). Also in here should be a Deployment Method, this should be Hardlink Deployment. Since it is the mod staging folder, you don't put it in your game folder, because it's not the mod deployment folder, it's the folder that Vortex relies on to make it easier to deploy the appropriate files (meaning if there is a file that is used twice in two mods, it will deploy the higher priority file).

The other option is to simply zip up the mod/mods you have installed manually and install them again via Vortex. Navigate to your Witcher 3 mods folder (typically this would be in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\mods; zip up the mod you want to reinstall with Vortex Now open the Settings of the mod manager and then navigate to the Mods tab. Then edit the base path to the location of the mod staging folder (created in step 1).

So, you can try moving the mod folder to the game drive to fix the issue.

I installed it on my D drive because of storage reasons, but this is different than the drive Skyrim SE is currently installed in. Vortex says that mods can't be deployed since the staging folder is is on C drive and not D drive with the game. Vortex says that mods can't be deployed because the mod staging folder needs to be on the same drive as the game.

Looking at the Mods tab in Vortex, there's a Download path and an Install path, both defaulted to my user profile's folder.
